For the last nine years, the American Legion Auxiliary System 398 has worked with the Mound Westonka School District to have over 200 - sixth grade trainees send essays about "What the American Flag Means to Me." This year, they were sent by sixth grade trainees from Our Woman of the Lake from Ms.
Rasicot and Ms. Glewwe classes. All essays read by various Post 398 members and non-members that include Veterans, Sons of the American Legion, Auxiliary, and our regional community members. Chosen were the 20 essays that suggested the most to those who evaluated them, and the top 10 will be welcomed to read their essays at the Memorial Day Event.
I don't exactly remember who taught me what the American Flag indicated. It has actually constantly been special to me to celebrate veteran's day in my house. Part of that is since my papa was in the Air Force and all 4 of my fantastic grandpas combated in The second world war.
